This is a big day for everyone at Wibotic, one of our original Yu Galaxy portfolio companies. They unveiled breakthrough 1 kW wireless charging solutions for robots, drones and a wide range of other machines.
When Ben Waters and Joshua Smith set out to redefine the future of wireless charging, they soon found much-needed applications for their technology in the growing robotics sector. Robot developers needed a more reliable wireless battery charging option, because their products constantly move around, and contact-based systems don’t work in many situations.
WiBotic was born from that market demand.
Today, the company is creating reliable charging hardware that work with any battery, on any robot, drone or machine, and has made a name for itself in its wireless charging. Wibotic also provides fleet management software to not only manage the charging automatically but also provide machine status and data accesses.
Wibotic’s new, high-power 1kW system can operate from any 110V 15A circuit or greater, expanding the potential reach of contactless charging in higher-power applications.
As one customer explains in the attached article, “We’ve successfully deployed WiBotic chargers for customers in a range of applications and in some difficult environmental conditions — but historically only in applications where overnight charging was possible. With the new 1kW system, robots will charge at three times the previous speed, opening up a whole new set of applications where fast and ultra-reliable charging is needed.”
